The world’s most famous gold museum is in Bogotá, Colombia. The museum has an impressive collection of the gold works of Colombia’s pre-colonial civilizations. Among them are those from Tolima. Tolima is one of Colombia’s thirty-two departments. It is located in the west central Andes. The indigenous inhabitants of the area are known for their gold pendants depicting simplified human figures.
