Cancún is a resort that showcases the natural beauty for which Mexico is famous. Some three million tourists annually flock to Cancún to enjoy its marvelous sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and ideal weather. Prior to 1974, however, Cancún was a completely underdeveloped area—no more than a tiny fishing village.
